Agora Architects strongly believe in ensuring that our clients get the best architectural services possible. In order to understand how this benefits you as a client, here are four points to consider.
Professionally qualified
The title ‘architect’ is a legally protected title, that indicates that the person is a qualified and licenced design professional. There is often confusion between an architect, an architectural designer and a draftsman, because the practice of architecture isn’t protected, but to call yourself an architect when you are not one is unlawful. The ARB register lists architects suitably qualified to practice under the title of architect; our architects have studied for a minimum of 7 years to gain this prestigious title and can provide their registration number so our clients can be confident that they are dealing with a genuine and qualified professional.
Professional conduct
We are also an RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) accredited architectural firm, gaining our status as an RIBA Chartered Practice. So not only are our architect’s personally bound by The Architects Code under the Architects Act 1997, our architects are also bound by the RIBA’s code of professional conduct, which also encourages members to act and conduct business in line with three key principles; honesty, integrity, and competence, and as a practice must adhere to the RIBA Code of Practice for Chartered Practices.
Continued Education
RIBA Chartered architects are obliged to record a minimum of 35 hours of CPD per year (Continuous Professional Development). This means that we’re always up to date with the latest architectural affairs and trends. It ensures our architects maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills they need, to deliver a first class architectural service.
A point of contact
In the event of any issues, our clients can rest assured knowing that because we are members of RIBA and ARB, there is a regulatory body that can contacted if a dispute arises. This sets the standard of professional practice and these bodies act as impartial and independent professional dispute resolution entities. Most importantly, this ensures that we are always striving to uphold our reputation that we have dedicated so much of our lives to achieve.
